Essays on life and teaching (and writing and literature)
Thanks Elizabeth! I've had enough of the failed experiments on our children. 10 years of NCLB, and now Race to the Top, budget cuts, privatization. And the corporate media is not going to cover these stories. I've been signing petitions on line, writing letters, writing a blog, etc. but I think it's going to take a massive movement of parents and teachers to save our public schools, and make sure all schools are fully funded.
I suppose the good news is that the architects of NCLB haven't ruined education completely yet...they've come very close, but there might still be hope. I keep asking for PA to file for exemption from education reform nightmares (NCLB/RTTT). New Jersey just did it. Why can't we? Everything would be better in an instant! You do good work, Angie. We can't shut up about this; it's too important. There is still so much to be done...Off to write letters to school board now--for whatever that is worth. Best,EC
